Performance
Base Bronco models have a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter engine that delivers 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Some might prefer a model equipped with the V6 twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter version that produces 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque around Tehama County. The smaller engine pairs with a manual six-speed transmission. The larger engine comes with either the manual or automatic 10-speed transmission.
Ford also enhanced the Bronco's off-road ability by including all-terrain tires and two different transfer cases. The 4WD models also have front and rear locking differentials. Selectable modes enable drivers to choose from Baja, Eco, Mud, Normal, Rock Crawl, Sand, Slippery, or Sport levels. Equipping the vehicle with a towing package enables the SUV to haul up to 3,500 pounds around Red Bluff.
