The New Ford Bronco: It's Back and Bolder Than Ever

The Ford Bronco has returned in full force. Its recent debut brought acclaim from critics and everyday consumers alike as the base two-door model touts an accessible price point, a full slew of standard infotainment and safety features, and plenty of optional off-road accessories. In breaking back into the trail-riding riding SUV segment, Ford has entered a new era of smart-engineering and manufacturing as the automaker builds upon the Bronco, a longstanding fan-favorite, with the brand's distinct pioneering EcoBoost powertrain options, user-friendly entertainment interfaces, and a completely redesigned exterior. In blending elements of past, present, and future, the Bronco will be a hard model for any Corning adventurer to turn up.

What's Under the Hood of the Ford Bronco?

The Ford Bronco will be available with two powertrain options, both of which wear the EcoBoost badge with pride. Offered in both two- and four-door variants, the Bronco can be had with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and a seven-speed Getrag manual transmission. When armed with the available automatic Four-Wheel-Drive transfer case, the Bronco boasts a 94.8:1 crawl ratio in first gear, delivering a crawl that's ideal for traversing uneven rubble and rough terrain. What's more, is this crawler gear, aptly labeled "C", is situated conveniently below Reverse ensuring you don't accidentally slip into this low-speed gear when going about your normal Tehama County commuting and errand-running. The manual transmission can only be mated with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost, while the Bronco further extends a ten-speed automatic with its 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for those drivers looking for slightly friendlier on-asphalt performance.

How Does the Ford Bronco Fare When Trekking Off-Road?

Excellently; the Bronco will sport a five-link Dana 44 rear axle with an independent front end. An available semi-active discounting front sway bar will allow Red Bluff area drivers to rough it over even the most irregular terrain with optimal articulation. The Bronco's robust skid plate helps act as a shield for the rugged differential while its immense 11.6 inches of ground clearance will allow any adventurer to conquer the environment underfoot. On the off chance you encounter some water in the backcountry, the Bronco touts a maximum fording depth of 33.5 inches.

Enjoy Open-Air Riding in the Sticks with the Ford Bronco

The new Bronco will stick to its traditional roots of open-air trail riding with its four-door models sporting a removable top and doors. With a sport bar (protecting you in the event of a roll) situated slightly behind the second-row, passengers will have a full and unobstructed view of the night sky and sunny rays. Rubberized flooring, drain plugs, and heavy-duty vinyl seating allow you to give your SUV a quick hose-out following a day of mudding.

New and Improved Tech to Make Your Adventure That Much More Personal

Set your favorite soundtrack to your adventures around Chico, CA with the optional Sync 4 infotainment system. Its 12-inch screen is immersive and allows users to tailor audio and navigation features. A full roster of off-road tech can be had including differential locks, an off-road turn assist system, and traction control, all located in one convenient row of buttons resting on the dashboard. The Bronco also features its collection of GOAT Drive Modes, a series of seven drive modes designed to allow motorists to go over any type of terrain without breaking a sweat. Moreover, there's room for up to six auxiliary switches to drive power to your optional accessories.
